OT Topology Assessment for Mining Operations

A per-site assessment that produces an inventory and topology of record for a mine, including the radio, microwave, and fiber links between sites that most diagrams leave out.

What is specific to mining

The link between sites is part of the topology.

A mine is several OT networks connected by long-haul links, and the links are where the assumptions hide. The assessment treats each pit, processing plant, pump station, and camp as a site, and treats the backhaul between them as an asset with its own owner, its own failure modes, and its own place in the segmentation design.

Backhaul documented, not assumed
Radio, microwave, and fiber links are inventoried with what they carry: corporate, control, vendor, and safety traffic often share one path. The assessment records which is which, so segmentation can be designed for the link rather than only for the plant.

RTUs and remote panels included
Pump stations, tailings instrumentation, and conveyor transfer points run on RTUs and small PLCs far from any network closet. They are in the inventory with lifecycle status, because they are the equipment most likely to be both unsupported and reachable.

Sequenced for travel, not just for scope
Remote and fly-in sites are assessed in a sequence that fits site access and shutdown calendars, with physical verification grouped per visit and passive discovery running between visits so no trip is wasted.
